NFL First Round Mock Draft

By: Matt Nuti

So while the drills for the NFL scouting combine have started today, I’m just now putting out my first round mock that was made before any information from the combine came out.  (sorry I was busy).  But alas, I’ve got it here now.  Just a couple of notes, I didn’t account for trades in this mock.  I expect there to be a TON of movement on draft day, but I just went team by team looking at the board as is.  Another point of note I have no Tight Ends being taken in the first round.  I didn’t forget about them, I just question if there are any first round graded tight ends in football this year.  I like the athleticism and I have a group of them going in the second round (which we’ll all be seeing later) but, no first rounders.  So, here it is… enjoy:

By: Jared Ramos

The 2011 season is now over and it is time to predict who will take home the Heisman trophy. This year was one of the craziest years for the Heisman because there were a handful of players that could have taken home the award. Without further ado the final Heisman standings. Read more »

College Football Heisman Standings: Week 13

By: Jared Ramos

With only championship week left we break down the top  contenders to win the Heisman. With many of the top contenders not playing this week, there is not much room for players to change voters minds.

1. Trent Richardson, RB, Alabama

Last Week: 27 carries, 203 yards, 1 receiving TD

Season: 263 carries, 1583 yards, 20 TD’s Read more »

College Football Heisman Rankings: Week 11

By: Jared Ramos

We are now into the home stretch of the Heisman race. At this point any of the following five candidates could take home the hardware. The slightest slip up could mean the difference in finishing first or fifth.

1. Trent Richardson, RB, Alabama

Last Week: 32 carries, 127 yards, 1 TD

Season: 204 carries, 1205 yards, 18 TD’s Read more »

College Football Heisman Rankings: Week 9

1. Andrew Luck, QB, Stanford

Last Week: 29-40, 330 yards, 3 TD’s, 1 INT
Season: 174-242, 2,218 yards, 23 TD’s, 4 INT’s

Last week Andrew Luck showed why so many people have him as their favorite to win the Heisman trophy. After throwing a pick six, to put USC up seven, Luck marched right back down the field to tie the game up and send it into overtime. Read more »

College Football Heisman Standings: Week 8

By: Jared Ramos

The college football season is past the half way point and I think we have gotten to the point where three players have separated themselves from the pack. Two of them are household names, while the third was a former WVU commit who almost got benched before the season even started.

College Football Heisman Standings: Week 7

By: Jared Ramos

Now that seven weeks are in the books we are starting to see some separation at the top of our heisman standings. Andrew Luck and Trent Richardson are starting to pull away from the pack. Meanwhile, Marcus Lattimore, someone who was a candidate all season had his season come to an end with ligament damage to his left knee. Read more »

College Football Heisman Standings: Week 6

By: Jared Ramos

It’s hard to believe that we are already at the half way point of the college football season. The race for the Heisman is heating up and now is when players make their case for the trophy. To this point there has only been two surprises in my eyes for potential Heisman candidates, Russell Wilson and Tyrann Mathieu. Both are legitimate candidates to take home the hardware after beginning the season on no one’s radar.

1. Andrew Luck, QB, Stanford

Last Week: 26-33, 370 yards, 3 TD’s, 1 INT
Season: 106-145, 1383 yards, 14 TD’s, 2 INT Read more »

College Football Heisman Standings: Week 5

By: Jared Ramos

Two of our five Heisman candidates teams lost last week (South Carolina, Baylor), which means we are looking at a completely different list this week.

1. Trent Richardson, RB, Alabama

Last Week: 29 carries, 181 yards, 2 TD’s
Season: 96 carries, 622 yards, 10 TD’s

In Richardson’s last four games he has rushed for at least 111 yards. In three of his last four games he has rushed for more than 125 yards and two touchdowns. Richardson had a terrible opening week, but since then has been the best player in the country. I still believe that Marcus Lattimore is the best running back in the country, but right now no one is hotter than Trent Richardson.

Nov. 5 when the Tide host LSU will go a long way to deciding if Richardson is the second Alabama player in three years to be awarded the Heisman trophy.
