When putting together a list of the Buzz-saw’s pet-peeves, it’s almost easier to first include what doesn’t annoy Mike Asti. Dumb people, ignorant people, unnecessary traffic, and we can’t forget about buffoonery. Unfortunately these are all unavoidable occurrences. How can he maintain the functioning part in his functioning lunatic status under these harsh conditions? Easy! Brush his shoulders off. Mike “the Buzz-saw” Asti and George “the Howitzer” Gerbo explain how this relates to the sports world today.

Despite entering the World Series the favorite, the Detroit Tigers had to watch Pablo Sandoval join an illustrious group of names like Babe Ruth, Reggie Jackson, and Albert Pujols. Not bad for a guy in the midst of an individual career decline. Sandoval smashed three home runs in game one of the 2012 World Series. The win, not only put “Kung Fu Panda” in some heavy history and gave San Francisco a series lead, it also eliminated Detroit’s “Ace Advantage” of Justin Verlander. What do the Tigers now need to do in order to not let a championship slip from their fingers? Brush their shoulders off!

NBA Commissioner David Stern has announced he will retire in early 2014. Where does Stern rank among the all-time sports commissioners? How can “The Association” still thrive without his leadership? Brush it’s shoulders off!

The New York Islanders are relocating to Jay-Z country and moving to Brooklyn. Is this good for hockey a franchise with four Stanley Cup banners and an abundance of retired numbers hanging from the rafters is forced to move? Should the Islanders change their image to better fit the Brooklyn culture? What do you do in Brooklyn? Brush your shoulders off.

The Howitzer and Buzz-saw Show: brushing off shoulders and conquering sports radio, one day, at a time….
