The HBS: Blundering Blunders!

by Asti

By: Mike Asti and George Gerbo

Asinine. Mike “the Buzz-saw” Asti and George “the Howitzer” Gerbo’s favorite term is perhaps the most fitting way to describe the recent ending to Monday Night Football. As the sports world continues to go bonkers over the replacement referees and how atrocious this game, as well, as the entire NFL season of officiating has been, the integrity of the most popular organization in America is being questioned. How many more referee blundering blunders can the National Football League withstand? This epidemic will be dissected, while solutions of many lingering issues will be answered. Was upstanding the referees incorrect call the right decision by the league? Will this trigger a rush to settle the dispute with the, actual qualified, regular refs? Has the replacement ref scandal actually been a positive for the NFL and created even more of a buzz and a “water cooler” effect then ever before? Where does this blunder rank in the lexicon of game changing historical calls across the history of all sports? With a resident Packer fan on the panel, Mike may be forced into a rare and uncharacteristic job of controlling the action.

After dealing with all the asininity that was MNF, a preview of NFL’s week four and the HBS Pick’em Challenge rolls on. College football joins the docket, with a discussion of the current National Championship and Heisman watch landscape.

Hey NFL, need an official? Mike and George are willing to hear offers. The NFL replacement referees conquer NOTHING, while the Howitzer and Buzz-saw conquer sports radio, one day, at a time….
