The HBS: The Hunt For Red October
By: Mike Asti and George Gerbo

The Buzz-saw is heated. For this special second broadcast of the week, Mike and George discuss the conclusion of the MLB Divisional Series and prepare to preview baseball’s final four. Before covering the remaining teams, as they fight for the pennant, there is plenty of blame to go around in the clubhouses of the eliminated. What upset is more shocking? How will heavy favorites such as Philadelphia and New York respond to early exits? Will the Buzz-saw do the unthinkable and defend Alex Rodriguez? After running all over the diamond, the HBS team shifts over to the grid iron. Resident Packer fan, George “the Howitzer” Gerbo may have to pick sides between two championship quarterbacks once again. As always, the weekly picks close out the program. The Howitzer and Buzz-saw Show. Conquering sports radio, one day, at a time….
- The sports world lost one of its most influential figures. Raiders owner and NFL legend, Al Davis passed away at 82 years old. Davis is the only man to ever serve as a scout, assistant coach, head coach, owner, and even a brief stint as AFL commissioner. During his tenure as Raiders owner his slogan of “just win baby” became just as much apart of the franchise as the silver and black colors. Since taking over the team as principle owner 41 years ago, Al Davis’ franchise claimed 1 AFL title (1967), 4 AFC Conference crowns (76′, 80′, 83′, 2002) and 3 Super Bowls (76′, 80′, 83′). Like him or hate him, without a shadow of a doubt Al Davis left his mark on football and the sports world in general. We all have truly lost an icon.
Allen “Al” Davis, 1929 – 2011 “JUST WIN BABY!”
